Parts Differentiation

FyodorI have a 22 year old cat. Everyday she wakes up I think, "You're still here?" I really am glad to have this pet who knew me as an undergraduate. She was kept by my Mom during my long college years and ultimately outlived her. Now, I see that something chronic will kill Fyodor. She has a swollen rear end. I Googled "feline + swollen +vagina" and got a range from amateur to technical vet sites. I Googled "feline + swollen + anus" and got about ten porn sites. Some disguised as normal info until opened. Hmmmm. Sometimes the Internet gives me glimpses into worlds I would prefer not to know about!

US Department of Ed Info

Images_38http://nces.ed.gov/pubsearch/pubsinfo.asp?pubid=2006099
Is the link to the US Department of Education's site for statistics and publications. For instance, you can download a 2006 report (PDF) on art education in the lower grades by going to the site. Can you trust the government? ...in this case, I think it is a great place to go for numbers that reflect the state of US education.

Friendly Tech Help: RSS Feeds

RSS Feeds - Web Reader

Get a Web Reader

Don't be scared –it's RSS not IRS! :-) Technology is a new world to many of us. I am learning as I go. Below, my tech advisor sister, Allison, explains how to get on a blog feed – or in other words – how to have your favorite blogs more accessible through daily emails or "feeds" onto your desktop. More on the specific cultures of blogs as we go.

A Web Reader allows you to subscribe to different web sites so that you can read the information from those sites all in one place. You may have seen “RSS” or “XML” or on websites — that means you can subscribe to the site with a reader.

If you use My Yahoo you already have a web reader. Just click on Add Content and you can subscribe to websites that work with readers.

To subscribe to Publishing 2.0 on My Yahoo!, click here: My Yahoo

Some readers, like My Yahoo!, run on the Web, and others run on your computer. Here is a list of some popular readers that you can use: Bloglines, Newsgator, and Newsburst.
