The "Language of Loss"

Katrina20patinaBlogger/writer Ellis Anderson of Bay St. Louis Mississippi, is writing on ongoing story of his town, the "ground zero" of Katrina. Katrina Patina is an 2006 William Faulkner-William Wisdom Creative Writing Award winner. His texts are heart wrenching, his photographs are sad and sublime. http://katrinapatina.blogspot.com/ (thanks to Carri Skoczek)

Weblog Launch!

Welcome to Currents:ArtsEducationCulture

. . . a new weblog to enable global dialog among artists and art educators on contemporary issues in arts, education and 21c culture. Each month, a topic will be introduced. Each week, a new comment or question will be presented.  Guest authors will be invited to introduce subjects of interest.
This Week: Blog on and contribute suggestions for topics, guests, resources, etc.to help us shape the next few months.  What topics most concern you in the areas of contemporary art education culture? What most interests you about contemporary art? Contexts such as school and alternative site arts education culture will be considered. Use your imagination. As artists, teachers and administrators what are your dreams, concerns, passions, causes? What issues are critical to the "real" world of teaching? How can on-line communities work to build connections and spread ideas?
