Free Arts Advocacy Toolkit

 Keep Arts in Schools.org sis a site where you can find a  new Toolkit, published in November by the Ford Foundation....it aims to help parents, teachers, and education advocates understand how the era of No Child Left Behind (NCLB) affects access to arts education.

School Arts Magazine Special Issue on Design Education

Martin Rayala (Kutztown University) and Paul Sproll (Rhode Island School of Design) have been invited by Davis Publishing to 
co-edit the October 2008 issue of School Arts magazine on Design Education. Articles and content editing must be completed in
May 2008 so potential articles with photos will need to be identified within the next couple of months.

Do Something!

dosomething.org is one of the rare non-profit sites that gives small grants to kids with good ideas. They are focused on just about any cause--animal rights and body image is a current focus. Several environmental awareness projects recently received funding.

Summer Joy

Images NY1 News interviewed numerous school kids this week inquiring about the joys of summer break. I didn't see  any teachers interviewed. So for the record, a big YIPPEE!for all teachers who worked hard under NCLB  and other tribulations.  Have a great summer!
